Hello, welcome to sir this is a wendy’s!

We started as a group of people who wanted to stay connected with our passions but also with friends.

By sharing our hobbies, we found a low-stakes and fun way to make new friends and deepen existing bonds. 👯

We have been running free community events every week, with attendees chipping in to cover materials costs when needed. 💵

I’m here because Wendy’s feels like a community that also feels like a home. And I want it to be a home where people can work through the hard stuff together and become stronger because of it, while still having fun!

At Wendy’s, I focus on creating systems and spaces that help us repair, learn, and stay connected over time. For me, it’s about weaving a fabric thick enough to hold all the parts of ourselves and each other.

I want to love living in Toronto, and being a part of STIAW feels like an important part of that journey.

I started “sir, this is a wendy’s” literally because I missed the feeling of creating art again, and even though I have so much art supplies sitting at home, I just never got down to actually do it.

As much as I know it’s important to carve out “self-care” time, the draw just isn’t enough on its own. Until I cracked the code of doing this along with friends, or simply just, being in the presence of others. Like studying at a library, when everyone is going at it so hard, being in that atmosphere naturally makes you go hard at it too.

Or simply, it’s just another excuse to see friends and hang out with people. As adults in this “super-connected” day and age, we actually need more excuses to see friends, to feel actually connected, in real life.

Honestly I feel like by doing this, my winter feels way less lonely than before, and the whole year of 2025 was just epic with so many memories to look back on.

Genuinely so grateful for everyone who came into this little community and made it all possible. <3

  1. Respect the hosts and their rules, but speak up when you feel called to.
  2. Allow yourself and others to move freely with conversations.
  3. Show up with a open mind, genuine curiosity and authenticity.
  4. Growth is allowing conflict and doing the repair work that comes after.
  5. Come excited to participate, but also leave every space better than before. </aside>
